(Mar19th, 2010) With the emphasis made by the manager of tourism organization, the studies for making ‘Tourism National Brand’ have been considered as the number one priority.
During the last decades, tourism branding has attracted a lot of attention. In today’s world, the highly competitive market has made it necessary to consider a unique identity for tourism destinations. Nowadays, most tourism destinations in the world are of equal claim in their importance, so a country cannot succeed in attracting tourists to its beauties just by the attractions themselves. Success goes to those countries which have taken stride to make their tourism brand based on their potentials and have planned, either in the long run or short term, accordingly. A certain brand readily remains in the mind of the audience for rather a long time and makes them certain of the quality they are to receive. The brand motto, symbol and logo are the invaluable signs which stick in the mind. Marcopolo Tourism Training Center has commenced its studies and research in making National Tourism Brand since 1386. In the first phase, 10 successful countries in making their national brands were taken into account and their approaches, methods and strategies were scrutinized. Based on the found models in the first phase, in the second phase research was made to better know how Iran’s national brand could be made. Now, utilizing the ideas of both Iranian foreign view holders, the final stages of the project studies together with its implementation and application are in the focus.
In this regard, the goal is to find a position for Iran’s tourism brand in the world market, a position which guarantees Iran as a unique brand in the Middle East, Asia and even the world and can bring about a lot of income for country other than that obtained from oil export.
